Privacy Policy — My Kids

My Kids ("the app") is a family screen-time and safety tool published by Malak Nasser ("we", "us"). It has two parts:
- My Kids (Parent) — installed by a parent on their own phone.
- My Kids (Child) — installed by that parent on their child's phone, with the child's knowledge. The child app shows a permanent notification whenever it is active. It is not hidden and cannot run secretly.

1. What we collect, and why
We only collect what the app needs to do the job the parent asked for.

We do not collect contacts, SMS, call logs, passwords, keystrokes, or any advertising identifier.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent personal data. Ever.
- We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We show no ads and use no third-party analytics or tracking.
- We do not listen through the microphone or use the camera in the background. Audio and photos are captured only when a person presses a button to do so.
3. Who can see a child's data
Only the parent account that created the child's profile, and any co-parent or caregiver that parent explicitly invites by email. Our database enforces this with row-level security: one family cannot query another family's data.
4. Where data is stored
Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL hosting) on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt). Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Supabase acts as our data processor.
5. Payments
- Google Play version: billed by Google Play. We never see or store card details.
- Direct version: card payments are processed by Tap Payments. Card details are entered on Tap's secure page and are never stored by us.
6. Children's privacy
This app is a parental tool. The child app is installed and configured by a parent, who provides consent for the collection described above for their own child. We show children no advertising, and there is no way for a child to communicate with anyone outside their own family through the app. We do not knowingly collect data from a child whose parent has not set up the app for them.
7. Your rights and controls
- Turn features off: location, screen monitoring and every other data-collecting feature can be switched off individually in the parent app, which immediately stops that collection.
- Delete a child: removing a child profile deletes their reports, locations, screenshots, alerts and postcards.
- Delete your account: email us and we will delete your account and all family data within 30 days.
- Access/export: email us for a copy of your family's data.
8. Data retention
Live data is rotated automatically as shown in section 1. Everything for a family is deleted when the account is deleted.
9. Security
Access is protected by authenticated accounts, row-level security in the database, and device tokens for child devices. The parent app can additionally be protected with a PIN on the child's device. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store card numbers and we minimise what we collect.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify parents in the app.
